Hi Smithy

As one Sydney resident to another , welcome to the world of homemade turbine engines :-))

After nearly 17 years of playing with them, I might be just the bloke you need.

Heres a link to my projects so far

http://www.racketmotorman.turbinebuilder.com/

current project , 115 lbs thrust initially , 150 shp eventually , is nearing first spoolup.

Shoot me a personal email and let me know where you live , I'm in the Blue Mountains .

Cheers
John

Hey Racket, I love the Blue Mountains! We stayed in a quirky little hotel that has live music, though the town name escapes me at the moment. Took that vertical rail ride out of the valley, too. That was something.

Hi Mike

I'm ~10 minutes drive from that Scenic Railway , its in Katoomba .

I live 2 villages to the east (towards Sydney) , the first village is Leura, a beautiful , though increasingly "trendy" village where the summer houses for the wealthy of Sydney in the early 1900's were built , the cooler climate at 3,000 ft meant they could have nice "cold climate" gardens whilst "struggling" out here "in the colonies".

The next village is Wentworth Falls where I am , still nice and cool (compared to Sydney) as we're at ~2750 ft , also surrounded by the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park , its a nice spot to live, been very good for my health :-))

Cheers
John

I remember it as one of the "Deep Thoughts, by Jack Handy" on Saturday Night Live -- of course they may have stolen it form some other source.

Hey John,
Thanks for the link and the kind welcome, i'll check out your site thoroughly. Great to see plenty of Aussies here.

I live at Campbelltown mate, prolly less than 1- 1/2 hours between us. Hopefully I can pick your brains and maybe even take a ride up to see you and your projects, I ride a Honda Blackbird so it shouldn't take too long to get there!!

Cheers,
Smithy.

I'm there mate, just checked out your pic's, me like!!

We might even be able to come up with a decent size engine for my dragster project!! BTW, if you need some Inconel material, or "proper" fuel nozzles, let me know.

Cheers,
Smithy.
