easy to build

does anyone have a design for an easy to build turbine that doesnt require many exotic materials (no car turbos)?
Sailing Student- How do I know if my life jacket is tight enough?

How much time can you spend on building the turbine? A microturbine like the Kamps design is an option, it will take lots of time to build and you still have to buy a compressor wheel. One of Kurt Schrecklings older engines used a home-built wheel from plywood, but buying a wheel from a turbo instead would save you lots of time and grey hairs... ;-)

50 miles isnt far. Check local diesel truck shops, cars shops etc etc.

used/junk turbos are very easy to find.

i have heard of people using the compressor off of a vacume or a leaf blower beacuase it is larger than a turbo compressor. is the compressor the only one worth buying or should other parts be purchased also?
