I was wondering how this might be accomplished, and where I might find resources (books, published documents, etc) regarding design (alignment, angles of the axial compressor, sizing, etc) and perhaps working models...
So far my web searches haven't yielded much...
Just curious...thanks in advance.
Feel free to email me as well...

Re: Adding an axial stage to a centrifugal compressor?
Hi, maybe you have seen this before, but anyway :
http://www.technologie-entwicklung.de/G ... ition.html
BTW, some development history seems to show that the axial boost stage wasn't a shortcut of improving the pressure ratio for a centrifugal compressor. For example the early Rolls Royce T 312. Check the link, the story explains.
I'd be very glad too if the relevant documentation can be seen available through internet.
