Horace -

What a beautiful piece for a casting! To my mind, lost wax has no peer.

Congratulations!

Thanks, Larry.

It was vacuum melt, centrifugal casted within a vacuum chamber. When puring melted metal, I can even observe through sightglass the inside of the vacuum chamber. Nice equipments, but no I don't want to own these equipments, too noisy and too expensive.

Oh Christmas tree oh Christmas tree...
Suits every desk...really nice!
Can I order such a unique tree at a local (serious) Christmas tree dealer?

I know that song...it's "Oh Tannenbaum, oh Tannenbaum" in german I think.

Horace,
I can tell you are as happy as a clam at high tide. Very whimsical of you to recite some lyrics, yet I got the jocularity I think, a good feeling of pride well deserved.
Merry Christmas,
Mark

Thanks, MK.

This batch of 304 turbine is for casting tryout only, it won't be made any more. I'll send these turbines to take electric coating for display purpose.

Re: My turbine wheel -- boring jig

Post by skyfrog » Wed Dec 15, 2004 4:15 pm

I went to a lathe workshop this afternoon and worked together with the operator, and get my turbines bored with the aid of a boring jig. So glad I made this jig so useful.

OK, I know "Turbinbaum" means turbine tree in "Germanish" Wanna try my "Taiwanish" ? :-)

Fascinating...I love it.

I can't wait to see you succeed, I have no doubt that you will.

Keep us up to date on your progress.

Just one critique on your website, it would be nice to be able to click on the pictures and see a full size view. Other than that, excellent site! I love the detail on the progress.

Horace,

How much are you envisioning selling the turbine wheel for?

Do you have any ball-park figure for the cost of a fully assembled engine?

Awesome work!

Thanks for the kind words and precious input, Ray. I am considering to provide some bigger pictures so that people can click on the small ones and see the full size view.

Believe me, the process of maintaining this website is full of fun and surprise, as through this website I can have contact with people from all over the world, you can never imagine where next email will be come from.
