Just a basic question re the Gluhareff type engine.
Are they meant to be originally run on liquid Propane?

Yes!
Think of it as a Rosco injector on steroids and you wont be far wrong, primarily it is to give a self starting feature other than that the weight penalty and added complexity soon start to add up the wrong way for flight engines, my original interest was for industrial burners, for that they are well suited.
