End of the road for the Gluhareff pressure jet
Well Conception GLC inc. has taken the L Shape Gluhareff pressure jet engine as far down the development road as I think it is going to go!
Thats it thats all folks! our number two test and development engine tonight gave a steady 45 Lbs thrust at 150 Psi.
Over double the claimed but never acheaved figure for the Gluhareff 20 Lbs engine.
We posted a video and picture on our forum if you want to see, (its a 5 meg file so will take a while to upload, doing it now:-)
DAS screen pic is during the warm up and annealing stage 140Psi, averaged thrust 17.5Lbs left bar meter of screen, peak pulse 28.5Lbs upper right graph, lower right graph FFT thrust signal 155hz.
We will be obsoleting this type of engine in the coming months and replacing it with our new production engines:-)
More power for a comparitive size and lower fuel consumption, also a significant reduction in noise by over 40 Dba when compared to the old engines.

40 dB! Holy Schnikeys! Are you sure you dB meter wasnt wearing ear muffs? ;)
That would make it about as quiet as a freight train carrying a rock and roll concert!

It starts out at 140 Dba Eric:-) dropping 40 Dba means you can stand ten feet behind the engine and talk to some one! at 140 Dba you can just see their lips moveing..

re: End of the road for the Gluhareff pressure jet
Ok the video is finally uploaded on our forum:-( I know some people don't like me doing it this way but its such a pain uploading big files to two forums so I just do it once to the GLC forum to save myself the hassle.
Took ages to sort out the problem on our stone age dial up connection, 4.5meg file, I had to upload it five times till I got the format right as it would not accept the new encoding standards in Quicktime.
You may need to install Quicktime 7 from www.apple.com to see the video

OK, I finally got it!
Apparently the QuickTime Updater will not take you all the way up to v7.X, that is required for this video to run.
You have to specifically download "QuickTime 7 for Windows Public Preview 3". from the site because as it is a beta version.
This link should take you directly to the proper download page: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/preview/
It is great to see progress, especially when you get two for one.
More thrust and less noise!
Great video.
Looking forward to more info as it becomes available.

Hagent
The following link will take you to where the .MOV file can be downloaded.
Unless you are set up to automatically log on to the GLC site, you will probably have to stop along the way to take that step.

It is definately worth the time to download and view.
Let me know if you have any problems.
