Maggie Muggs
Maggie Muggs looks great, Larry. The JB Weld fillet looks very smooth. When do you plan on testing her?
Larry,
indeed, 'tis a lovely piece of work larry, makes me envious of my meager talents. i really should start work on something so i too can have bragging rights.
Mike,
How goes the oil drum jam jar? did you get it running or not?

Experience speaks more then hypothesizing ever can. More-so in chemistry.

Thanks, gentlemen!
Mike and Coffee [aka Thomas] -
Thanks, guys. Now I need to make the test stand. And yes, I've decided to finally do something that will allow thrust measurement. I found a small scale [yes, it's a 'fish weigher', but looks to be a good one] with about a 2-inch diameter dial readout, perfectly zeroed, and with a 50 lb range. I think I can build this right into the front end base of the movable carriage part of the test stand, so its reading can easily be picked up right alongside the pressure gauge using the camcorder. Somewhere around I have a set of four very nice roller bearings inherited from my dad, which should work nicely on a pair of steel angle rails. I also have a good-sized finder 'scope mounting ring with a pair of 3-screw aiming mounts that I can use as an adjustable aiming device for the snout of the shop vac. I'll have more pictures when I've got it together, and I want to get some 'publicity shots' of me and Maggie while she's still looking good.
Thanks!

Shot of Maggie
Just realized I didn't have a shot of Maggie attached to this thread, and someone visiting for the first time might not even know what we're talking about. So, here's a shot most of you have already seen, just for the rare few who heven't ...

So why didn't that work?
I thought that worked, but it didn't. Let's try the attachment again, using the 'Browse' button this time ...
