WII German Pabst ramjets Information

Post by airrocket » Wed Sep 10, 2008 11:29 pm

Searching for information on German Pabst ramjets used on Focke-Wulf Ta283. These would have been subsonic.

If I remember correctly these were intended to be run on a slurry of coal dust as petrol was in very short supply in the later stages of the war, a number of these designs were put forward and one of the attractive features was simplicity and alternative fuels.

There is a nice picture of a Lorin type engine running on top of a truck, maybe Luft or one of those sites will have the information.

The NACA technical report server will be your best place to look as all the captured information ended up being fed in to that project and tested so the Pabst types are well documented there.
