Larry, I am impressed at the nice shape of the jet plume from the Maggie. That means that, whatever its origin, that little thing actually does its job admirably.

But, I am even more impressed by the basic idea. I guess doing the project was worth your while even if the only thing it did was this group of students having their fun. Altogether, a very nice endeavor. Yet, I must admit I had dismissed it as a blind alley right from the start.

Goes to show how a blinkered approach can lead you astray. I was obviously badly wrong. Maybe not on the essential dubiousness of the ramjet as a useful machine, but certainly on the broader value of the experiment itself.

The story has brightened my day considerably.
