Well, if you like it so much, then put your graphics tablet where your mouth is: create the template that we talked about!
I will be more than happy to provide you with the corrected dimensions and specifications needed to complete this task.
You may then post the results to the forum, so that all may share your 2D bounty! BTW...a 3D view would be cool, too.

What do you say now, mister laughing boy, or should I say mister jolly roger the pirate, raider of the night?! Indeed!

As always,
Evil M.

My Partner here is a solidworks and AutoCad design engineer, we have already put in place a project to redraw a lot of the availible plans.

The chinese was near the top of the list as its an easy to fabricate engine for the beginner, I had in mind to do a good job with all the cutting layouts 3D models etc.

"Jolly Roger the Pirate" Hmmm. Meant in the kindest possible sense of the name, I'm sure!

I'm considering giving it the full treatment, but I would require a red-line correction to the existing, if it pleases the court, oh keeper of the Chinese flame. I'm backed up on computer work and it will be a bit before I could start. Viv and Co. may beat me to it without too much effort, frankly.

Once again, I'm planning to test my thrust stand today, hopefully not to be stymied again.

I'm not sure why the current 2d file isn't up to this? It's reasonably hi-fi....

Viv - I think that your idea is a great thing to do, and I hope that you and your partner can find the time! Wrt to the Chinese, we have a near-term need, and if Mike is going to try and slide back off of the hook... Hmmm. Things like this always happen!

Mike - I think the thrust stand is more important, certainly for advancing your own projects. Just how long would it take you to draw a 2D layout of the Chinese, without dimensions? Convert this to a standard graphics format, e.g., png, and send it up to me. I will then add in the dimensional data, but it will help me, if you at least put in the dimensioning lines... What do you say?

Best regards,
M.

Hey, Luc, howdy! By the way, M., Luc is much better at the sheet metal functionality of Solidworks... I've had virtually zero need to learn that, but flat patterns will drop out the other end nicely.

Found a perfectly delicious photo of three chinese made engines. The guy reports to 30 Kg thrust on the big one. that can't be right.
