LOCKWOOD HILLER TIPJET?

Post by roland2001 » Wed Jan 05, 2022 4:53 am

Never would have thought that someone would try this. Hats off to the creative mind! To consider for a moment that these U-shaped babies would be used for rotary aircraft "tipjets," well to quote Vizzini ," is inconceivable!" Looked through this entire section and couldn't see that anyone had posted it, (I might have missed it.) That aside, here are the drawings from the patent app. , roland2001

Patenting something doesn't necessarily mean it has to be realistic. It would almost certainly be do-able (although how long the exhausts would last under centrifugal forces is questionable), but can you imagine the noise?
