Jam jar jet fuel system
If anyone else has heard of the jam jar jet (tin can pulsejet) do you think it would be possible to insert a steel pipe through a hole in the side and attach a fuel pump so I can get a nice long run from it . Bye

Re: Jam jar jet fuel system
You can do a drip feed, but then the critical thing is a cooling water jacket. Jam jars get too hot.
Mike Often wrong, never unsure.

But don't get it too cold, because it won't like that either

Re: Jam jar jet fuel system
Couldn't you just attach a one-way valve to a fuel pipe and do a suction feed?
Re: Jam jar jet fuel system
What kind of one way valve would you use?
Jim.

I don't know anything about one way valves. Anything with a fast response (how many hertz does a jam jar max out at?)

I meant pressure feed.Pyromaniac wrote:Couldn't you just attach a one-way valve to a fuel pipe and do a suction feed?
Re: Jam jar jet fuel system
I've attached a pdf of the pressure trace from a Reynst pot taken from a paper published in 1967. The major time divisions in pic (a) are 0.1 sec so it's frequency is ~ 58Hz. This isn't a jam jar, it was 3.64in id, 8.5 in long and 9/16 in hole.Pyromaniac wrote:I don't know anything about one way valves.
