I found two single phase high pressure water cleaners, together they will do the job. One pumps 6l/min, the other 7,5l/m. Right now I'm (finally!) building them together .

Metiz, did you already think about starting up methods? Somehow I don't just see you stick the little compressed air pistol in the inlets . I think everything should be done a little remotely, for safety.

Hey Fedde,

I've been toying with a few ideas. One of 'em is using a bunch of old (empty!) propanetanks as airtanks, and blowing air through a retractable hose into the intakes.
One other option might be to get an industrail size fan like the Swedish guys used to start their Argus style engine at speed-weekend.

Have you tried pumping fuel through the pumps yet? My uncle expressed some concerns regarding fuel and the rubber seals inside the pumps, i.e., it might eat away at them and cause a (catastrophic?) failure.

I worked with in the past with high pressure pumps. There were no rubber seals inside those pumps. Instead they have some kind of bakelite seal to seperate the water from the oil in the carter.
I don't share the concerns. Instead, if we use diesel, I expect the pumps to survive longer than on water because they are better lubricated now

Maybe you can contact your fuel guy for a nice kersosine-cooking oil concoction

Kerosin is not available to me anymore
But I'll make a nice mix of gasoline, diesel and vegetable oil. Actually the pumps will be a mixing device

Start system? Lightweight gas bottle, found it deserted somewhere after a festival. Have two of them. Mind the cannisters full of FREE vegetable oil next to it. Great fuel for my van. And for PJ's?

Nice one! Vegetable oil is the way to go but for starting at least, petrol is the easiest I think.

I've just tested the VTOL M40 but I can't get it to start on liquid yet. I'm using M10 nozzles and a PWM to regulate flow but there's no real feedback as to how much fuel I'm giving it so it's tricky. (that and the wires kept coming out) more testing to come.

Don't worry, the pump(s) is(are) getting together and it's going to be a 3way multifuel pump: LPG + 3 inlets for different fuels . What did you write earlier? Not to complicated? Well, I'm sorry .....

So what's the story with the sheet roller, how do you "stumble uppon" such a tool?

Any chance you stumbled on an anvil and/ or a 230v lathe?

Finally some progress!

A friend dropped by last week and left a bunch of goodies, including: literally hundreds of fuel nozzles, 2 powerfull pumps, fuel hoze, a big LPG tank, gallons of fueloil and a freaking sheet roller! Most of it is for loan but it will allow me to all but finish the engine! All that is left now is some sort of staring procedure (air, remote controll etc)
