2nd build video

Post by leakfree » Fri May 27, 2011 9:22 pm

This is the maiden voyage of my second build. Used PJ's caliber formula. Made from galv material, rough welding and end cone is just clamped on. It ran till the injectors fell out from vibration.

Good job,
Looks like she locked in fairly well.

Thanks PJ! It took a little tweaking the injectors but once I got that close it fired right up. It was pretty gusty the other night and it almost sounded like it wanted to selfstart. This stuff is fun. I am ready to build bigger already. Checked the recording and it looks like 140hz at 100 decibals if I am reading the program right. Not sure. Using IAnalyzer Lite

Nice, be sure you do not breathe the galvanize fumes!

Thanks Mike! I am having a blast with this stuff. Just got the fittings to remove my regulator and run some liquid through it. Going to cut the tail back to 9xD, cone to 6 and end of exhaust to 5 as per Pyro Joes example. Then it's on to a M40. Talked to my mechanic today and he's got a tube bender so I'm going to see if he's interested in doing a chinese.

Offom, you are getting help for the same project in two other threads. Please don't start another. Thanks.

I modified my current modle and spent about an hour last night trying to get it to sustain. It would not. Here again I didn't pay attention to exact measurments. My barrell is 2.25" ID and I figured 2". Duuuh! I can tell when I get this right this puppy is going to scream! Just got a Henrob torch so I can weld sheetmetal. Think I am going to start over from scratch. Will post vid when done.
