Here is a second look at "blending" for clarity.
Just basically an addition of the areas of CC and tail.
Note that the cone angle increases. From my experience I would say to keep the blended cone angle near 20 degrees overall, or if exceeded a gradual radius will need to be applied (marked in red).

Ah HA! ok so basically you make an engine twice as fat (in 2d caliber perspective) but keep the length the same...
Would this work with any well designed engine? If you were to try this with, say, Eric's 3 pound thermo, would that work?
how about an engine like my M40?

Yes make them fat....ha
Keep the intake characteristics in place.
Some engines are already blended to some extent. I can't say for sure what will or won't work outside the types I meddle with.

It looks like this...

I don't know. It looks way off BUT! this is a LARGE engine, probably fatter than the Dreadnought, and I know engine geometry takes a turn towards the twilight zone when they get realy big so...any thoughts? If anything I'd like the rectifier a bit longer, but that's thinking in smaller engine ways again.

I've left out the intakes because I'm not sure about that part. Should I just redesign them for this engine?

Is that by diameter, or area?

I don't understand. It's not because I'm stupid, but because of the language barrier, you see.

Here is the 20 degrees on the cone section I was refering to. It may not be the same for your type of engine, but on mine will typically have trouble when 20 degrees is exceeded. I have one that failed to run at 26, and another that failed at 23. Both where small, and didn't have a radius. This becomes more of a problem for blended engines, as the angle tends to increase.

Ah, silly me. I'm adding diameters. my cone angle is 40 degrees, however, the cone angle on the M40 is 43 degrees

yeah, it doesn't appear to be as big a problem with large engines to have a wide angle.

Was my diameter approach right btw, or does it not matter

It needs to be added by areas.
