1)Yes ...I have put a muffler on one of my pulse jets to keep the noise down to keep the
neighbours happy.Quietened it down mondo heaps while I changed bits and pieces to 'improve' it.
It was a smaller pulse jet and the muffler didn't seem to effect the tuning with it on and it was
the usual ear splitting howl with it off.
The most important benefit was that the good wife didn't give me grief over the usual noise - the neighbours didn't even know..heh heh heh!
They started to then grind their teeth over the other neighbours Harley motorbike.
2)No... muffler will effectively reduce your thrust and with most pulse jets it will tend to kill everything...
3)Maybe...in one of my experiments I managed to quieten down one pulse jet a lot
and maintain a decent amount of thrust.I have been thinking rather long thoughts
about that one for quite awhile...hmmmm
A muffler for someone new to pulse jets would be heinously frustrating though...
