Shouldn't need any plug ins... the location of the plan is here:

Re: can't ignite
alright now i have the 2 elbows with the close nipples, and measures out about the same as the other intake. this is all that happens:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0Fso4eLj00
every now and then it will blow out both the intake and tailpipe, but still not sustaining.
P.S. the giant bolt looking thing sticking out of the combustion chamber is just what i'm using to hold the copper line in place. it's not welded or attached, just tied on very tightly
Also if this won't work, I'm going to give up on it for now and try the ugly stick. I need this for a science project thats approaching, and the ugly stick looks pretty easy. any suggestions?

That little bur sounds encouraging. You really need to read this:
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=873#p59200
You really can't just set the fuel and go. Its going to be many tries with your hand really light on both fuel nd air. You are going to coax it iinto life.

Re: can't ignite
would it help if used a sparkler for starting? that way i would have more control over the fuel and air

Re: can't ignite
Nothing beats a grill ignitor (the kind with a AAA batery in it) and a spark plug in the CC, opened up to a really big gap. You can drill a hole and tap it partially with a 1/8 NPT pipe thread tap. I say partially, because it is a tapered thread, but works in thin walled things if you don't go too far. Ideal is putting the same thread as your sparkplug if you can get it. I use CM-6 sparkplugs, which have a 10mm x 1 thread.
Then you can rubber band the ignitor button on, and work the gas and starting air.
This size motor is already dicey for an expert to start, but keep trying.

Re: can't ignite
ok i've got another coupling for the CC that has a hole drilled in it and a filed down nut welded over that to keep the spark plug in place (it was on in the first 2 pictures i uploaded). I can put it back on the CC, but the spark plug is rather small; CJ8 (came off an old weed eater). Will a weed wacker magneto suffice for starting the spark plug, or is a grill igniter a lot better? I'd rather not tear it out of my dad's grill since we use it pretty often, but if it helps that much i can. also, in my science experiment, the question is :Can a pulse jet engine be muffled? I was going to try to find some way to quiet one, but I'm pretty sure that is almost impossible (easy question to answer=easy experiment ). so just making sure, a muffler for a pulse jet is practically impossible, correct?

yes, a magneto is good. open up the gap on the plug as big as you can before it arcs to the housing instead of the electrode.
No, muffling will not work.

What is the ID of your combustion chamber?

Re: can't ignite
1.5" CC; 3/4" tailpipe; 1/2" intake
Re: can't ignite
Sometimes I test the seal of my pipe jets by covering one end with my hand or a PVC expansion plug and see if it is leaking air by blowing in the other end. If you have a big vise, you can really snug the fittings tight or if you have two pipe wrenches that also works. Your spark plug is a 14 mm thread by the way. Sometimes little leaks make a difference, other times it doesn't matter. Small jets are sometimes less forgiving depending on the fuel you use or how you use it.

Re: can't ignite
i've got one of those big vise grips bolted onto a metal table. The pipes are definitely tight, but i'm not sure about leaks. I'll test it out
