Ha, she idles fairly well.

Constructed a fuel pipe for some testing, preliminary work shows some encouraging results. The tests so far have been in open air, blowing over the pipe with breath or airgun. One direction will pull liquid up to the nozzle, the other will force the liquid back into the container and blow bubbles. It actually works somewhat like I thought it would... scary!
I had seen a similar fuel pipe setup in a Rochester Monojet carburetor years ago. I noticed the 6 cyl. engine the carb. was supplying had a intake valve with considerable blow-by, yet the carburetor didn't appear to be bothered by the reverse pulses.
Preparing a 1.25" ID pipe to insert the fuel pipe into, will see if anything changes by confining the flow and creating pressure pulses.
There is a strong inclination to test this on a 6" diameter snorkler.

Update,
After considerable surgery, was able to reduce length from 67.5" to 51" using 6 blended bodies. Re-ported between the 2 CCs. Sacrificed some CC length also, but those are the tradeoffs.

Wait...that's....seriously dude, what?
I still don't fully understand the blended body concept. Do you take X engines and use certain characteristics of said engines to build one franken engine with the "best of both (or six) worlds"?
Which engines did you use to create this beast of an engine? (totally awesome btw)

Yes basically 6 blended caliber engines.
It started as two blended bodies. ALOT of cut and shut!
Its still not perfect, as there is considerable more cone than cylinder in the CC from the length cut.

Yes 6 perpendicular cut Rosscos, much less than optimal for top end, but at least she starts and sustains. Tested 2 injectors but couldn't attain the needed velocity/flow.
It takes both tanks to start, but can be throttled down and run from one bottle while on idle, even reasonably throttled down on a single bottle.

Great work, Joe! I think you are on the right track with the separate cc's and single tail. Much easier to synch, it seems. Very cool, man. You're breaking some good ground here. Dying to know what thrust you are getting out of this.
So the blended bodies works, so far (from both of our experiments), where the intakes are kept separate, and if either the tail or the combustor are blended. Faascinating.. One of us really needs to make 2 and 3 separate motors and 2 and three banger blended versions and really test the difference.

Still have some work to do, the low throttle characteristics are a dead give away, more CC volume needs to be shaved. Fortunate as it allows the cylinder length to be increased and the cone length of the CC to be decreased. A re-calculation of the recipe shows it is over in the CC diameter.
Haven't measured thrust, as the 6 injectors barely bring it above idle. Will need to fuel with some petrol and augment before things get interesting.
Have to catch up on some honey-do's that have accumulated over the last few weeks, rest a spell before hitting it again. The heat and humidity really zap my strength in the summer.

I've got an idea that I think will work with gasoline. The same setup I used with a geet engine one time. Force exhaust into a container with gas, the bubble action releases the fumes and they are sucked into the intake. It's worth a shot. Here is a link to my geet tiller. Actually this was after I discovered that I did not have to force exhaust to make it work but you get the idea.

Gave the gas bubbler a shot. It bubbled but not enough, probably pipeing was too small. Also tried injecting gasoline after propane start, that failed too. Think I put too much too fast. Will work some more on both these.

Gasoline is a tough one, the fuel air ratio has to be reasonably close, appears that many things have to be factored in.

Cut and shut operation complete, leak tested and ready for the weekend.
CC diameters have been reduced to 6".
CC length has been reduced and in addition cone length exchanged for cylinder length.
Still not as good a balance as would have liked to achieve.
