Alright 1st test of the new engine - still no dice. It's getting closer though. More mods on the way.

3rd prototype underway; significant changes imminent. The new version will be but a shadow of the original design but is much more likely to run. estimated thrust will be between 36 and 42 pound, shooting for 40.

How are you estimating the thrust for your designs?

Are you recycling the parts from the non working one? Any way to turn it into a linear engine?

Think you might learn a lot how a design works in linear mode, and how it applies to the rear facing intake types.

Plus the linear layout is really easy to make adjustable intakes or smaller diameter ones that will fit inside the larger one.

Alrighty newest mods complete. The combustion chamber has had a make-over. It is now a bit shorter with a less steep angle. The intakes are now coned to a diameter at the event horizon of 47mm. The rectifier has been elongated by a couple dozen mm. Overall length has decreased with 4 mm.

Hopefully I can test this tomorrow.

What's wrong with the choke?

Also, the regulated bottle you see will be used to heat up the other 2, unregulated tanks. I had no more bottle fittings so a regulator will have to do. I just need a bit of fire so I don't realy need massive flow to begin with

There is nothing wrong with the "choke" , it was i that was choking,
just couldnt resist pulling your leg ,

Tested the engine and it works!

Not just that, the engine performs BETTER then expected, tipping the scale at about 41/42 pounds

Oh yeah I was NOT able to flame it out. Had it running at 95+% so there may be something to gain. A different injector style could help to.

I had 2 seperate runs. The first one was significantly worse then the 2nd one and even that one got 18kg (39.6 pounds) without taking into account the resistance of the test platform, wich was litterally melting away.

Unfortunately, my cam ran out of tape before the 2nd run so only the first is recorded but you'll get the idea

This is a video of a 2nd test, just for fun and to get some better video footage. My sparkcircuit broke down for some reason so we had to go back to get sparklers. Turns out they make starting the (cold) engine about eleventy billion times easier.

the start up flings a bunch of mud towards the camera....first it was water, now mud anyway, this video is a lot better. If you look closely at the rope in the last few seconds you can see it breaking (burning) loose. The engine went batshit after that, hanging on by just the fuel lines; panic ensued
