Yet another pulseramjet

Post by krzys Mnich » Tue Sep 22, 2009 5:10 pm

the idea is not new, but the design looks pretty elegant.
First the theory: rear intake pulsejets, like Lockwood or Chinese, work well at low speed, but at high speed they become worse, and at supersonic speed, I guess, they don't work at all. It's not easy to build a valveless, that work well in a wide range of speed. Instead, you can feed the pulsejet with air slowed and compressed in a ramjet. Just put a pulsejet (or its intake and exhaust only) inside the ramjet.
The capped tube valveless fits perfectly to the ramjet, doesn't it?

When you find a way to make that Annular Valveless run well and reliably, you will have done very well, and let me know how you did it I am still trying. Off hand the other complication would be that you will need some very heat resistant material to withstand the heat load.

I am not saying it is impossible just that there are these considerations.....

In the process of moving, from the glorified phone booth we had to the house we have.

No real time to work on jets, more space, no time.

Life still complicated.
