Post by kirk » Fri Aug 21, 2009 1:20 pm

I have a copy of "Pulsating Combustion - The Collected Works of F. H. Reynst" Edited by M. W. Thring. It was published by Pergamon Press.
If any one is interested in acquiring it please let me know.

is the only one I have found for sale. What do you think would be reasonable? Half of that?
I would like to see the book go to someone who would appreciate it and not a collector or speculator.

Wile I would truly love to own an original copy even 1/4 the listed price is well outside my current budget. :(

I do hope you find a worthy recipient, and thank you for your promptness.

Kirk,
Felt I needed to warn you that it's a rediculously high price!

I have the hard back version, the original price in the states in 1961 was $15.
I got mine about 8 years ago from a bookseller, Can't remember exactly, think it was about 20 GBP so it's value hasn't increased dramatically.

Very interesting book to read although some of his idea's were, let's say imaginative!

It has become quite pricey I am afraid. Before the recent Italian listing I checked on ABE.com and a British bookseller had two copies, both above $200 US plus shipping. Evidently they sold both of them.
ABE.com is the best place I know of to find obscure titles. Better than Amazon or any other.

All the best
Kirk

There's a buried thread somewhere about this. Hard bound scanned copies (not original, print only on one side of the pages) are worth about US$25 plus postage. No one was interested in mine as multiple copies were on ebay for similar in the US so postage was cheaper. Bites sometimes being at the end of the world.

Cheers
