Hi
I would very much to duplicate the idle running of your thermojet. Could you please give me the details about fueling and dimensions?
This is the first pulse jet that I hear running idle like this.
Did you ever visit the forum on pulse-jets.com? You could also become a member (if you aren't already) and discuss the details there, people will be very thankful!!

Fedde,
I use a 5 gal Propane cylinder with a needle valve to supply the gas. The jets in the supply nozzles limit the full open amount supplied. The jet is small - 21" but, it's the needle valve supply and the tuning at low throttle that lets it sustain and rumble with out much thrust when the gas flow is low.
My injectors are 3/16" steel brake line that has been welded shut and drilled #70. They are inserted into the inlets about 1". The inlet tubes are 5/8" dia. and 3 1/4" long.
The hole is into the welded end so the jet directs itself into the inlet.

Here is a narrated overview of one of my leak free engines setup and starting, which is hard to confuse with the spot welded engines after you see one run.

Eric,

Shameless advertisement, haha

Now, I already have my own, fully welded, thermojet. I posted the above because of the idle running of that thermojet. It runs idle like a V8 :D :D
I want to make mine also run idle like that.

Ah I guess I should have explained that the "V8" noise isnt actual running, its a gurgling noise you can get from sticking a forced injection flame in just about any shape tube.

*cleans nails, looks smug* :P

you might be able to get the growl you're after if you replace the straight injectors with nicely made Rossco's. position them close to the flare.
