Looking for help with a Straight pipe exhaust Lockwood

Post by tbutler6 » Fri Mar 06, 2009 2:53 pm

Hello All

I've been reading this forum a lot over the past few days and am deciding what engine I want to build first. I'm an engineering student with access to a decent shop and have some credit in a welders shop to get the tig welding done. Im looking for a simple engine to build, but of a decent size. Preferably id like to make something like the one seen in this video.

The fewer cones I have to make the better, using stock stainless round tube for as much of the engine as I could would be the easiest.

Does anyone have plans for a lockwood hillier that uses a straight pipe exhaust?

Also what is the best way to flare the end of the pipes without access to any special forms?

I like the look of the Beck Technology 10 pound Thermojet and I've seen the plans for the 3 pounder but if anyone has it properly scaled up for the larger 10 pound model please post up a link to it.

Thanks for your help.
