Hi guys. This is a first cut of a plan that's at the muffler shop now. I thought it would be cool to have a blueprint a person can take to a muffler guy that uses the material and tools they typically have. Coming up after I run the straight pipe version will be two tail options that have one and two expansion steps.

I love it mike! Its about time everyone can easily have their very own pulse-jet, anywhere in the world, i'd guarantee there is a muffler shop. Simple plans, perfect! I think its a good easy way for people to get their very first pj started.

Here's some photos. Muffler guy dropped it off so I could drill the fueling holes before he welds the fueling chamber and brake line feed tube. More tomorrow. I hope to run it soon!

Hey Mike,

I'm glad you put the fuel holes at aprox 45 Degrees from the intake flow.

That seemed to be a limiting factor on my concentric PJ because I think the propane pressure was starting to interfere with the intake cycle when the fuel was pushed in at 90 degrees to intake air flow.

More pics. In this project, my aim is to make it practically zero work and low cost to run a first pulse jet.

The last welds done by Danny, the muffler guy. ;-) Man, is it air tight.

I just have to drill a hole in the fueling chamber for the feed tube, and just so there's no actual welding required outside of the muffler shop, I'm going to give Danny a shot at welding the brake line over the hole. It's a bit finer work than he's set up for, I think, but he's keen to try.

Just so it's at a low level for starting equipment, I'll try Eric's tiny hole in the CC and a blow torch for lighting (or maybe a bic lighter on high), and a car camping airbed inflator for starting air (or ha ha, a handmade bellows?), and go up from there.

Nice to see a Collins collar out in the wild Mike:-) you could have used a simple tube from the inlet flare back to the CC chamber and increased the collar chamber size, welding the flare lip would have simplified things as this was one of the original goals.

Love the whole engine though, very nice

Update: fuel tube goes on tomorrow morning. First light should be tomorrow night or Sat morn. Hope it goes. Even though it's low fidelity, it's got a lot of what I've learned in it. I'll be crushed if it doesn't start right up!

I think Viv means something like this, a mix between a surge chamber and a fuel injector.
