Really juicy stuff.
Hi Marten, long time no talk!

Did you have an indication of the hot spot in the CC as a proportion of physical length? I have a tool I'd like to check, where inputs are frequency, acoustic length and physical combustion location.

Nice work Marten, nice write-up, nice analysis, M.
Mike Often wrong, never unsure.

Indeed, Mike!

I hope everything is fine with you and yours!

Lately I have not had much time to browse the forum. Only once in a while. Rarely I foundmyself in the position to comment on something anyway.

Hmmm, as you can guess from the picture, it is rather hard to judge a "hot spot" or "combustion locus" from the outside. In fact the U-bend appeared to be the hottest section though.

Basically ignition is likely to happen from anywhere along the combustion chamber length, IMO. But we may get a good guess by agreeing on a "combustion locus" at about 1/5th of the overall physical length.
