first fwe

Post by metiz » Tue Oct 03, 2006 6:18 pm

here's a video of my first jet. Its the first or second succesfull run so ignore the girly screaming :D

It's completly build from stainless, hand sawn, hammered and filed. A coluege of my father (father in the background) welded the thing and my uncle realy helped with the constuction of the larger parts and the ignition (thanks)

Same problem here
If it doesn't fit, use a bigger hammer!

you probably can't see the video because of missing codecs. google xvid codec

metiz, Congratulations!

Wonderful job ... I love the enthusiasm shown by your father. That's the first time I ever heard a video of anyone yell OVER the noise of a running pulsejet.

I can't see it here at work, but did see it at home. Very nice.

There's really nothing quite like the time you get your first one running. I remember messing around with trying to run my Elektra I: I know this should run ... I know it will run ... I know I can start this ... See? It's just about there, it's definitely going to run ... Yes! It really wants to run, just a little more fuel, or a little more air, no not quite right ... All right, with a little more length on it now, I know it will run ... OK, now there's a little MORE length, it's got to run ... Doggone it, now that the battery's charged up there's got to be a good spark, I know it'll run this time ... Maybe with this pipe sleeve added on ... Must have been too long before, now it should go ... Wow, there it is! Look at her go! Man, what a noise! ... Man! How can it DO that?

First run's are exicting aren't they? I know on my first run, which was with a 50lb lockwood, my dad and I laughed until our stomachs and cheeks were sore. I felt like a 5-year-old on christmas morning. I've been an addict ever since.

I tried to run it again this night. didn't do anything, not even a flame. Turned out a bug crawled in the injector pipe....right... anyhoe, after it was gone it ran better and harder than ever :D

Metiz: Is there any way you could post the video in another format??

I tried three time to down load xvid codec and just received corrupted files and trojan horses.

Hi 'berquistj@peoplepc.com'

There's an alternative:
- download the vlc player (if you don't have it yet...) under
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html
- download the movie file you want to watch under
http://www.pulse-jets.com/phpbb2/files/ ... 03_114.avi
and watch it with vlc

I couldn't watch the movie either on this page and like that it worked.
