Ok Mike,

I just have to say thanks for your hospitality!

I had a great time and will have to get a rain check on that tour.

I owe you some beer and pizza!

OK kiddies--now for the good news.

The night runs netted a max frequency of 172 with the M15E

Go back to page 1 of this thread and watch "bill05.mov"; peak achieved frequency is 180 Hz in that clip.

That corresponds to an acoustic temp in excess of 750K--the highest value I've observed in any pulsejet!! No wonder it looks like it's going to melt-down.

For the number-guys, the physical length is 60.04 inches.

Also,--the propane injector is really high-tech; it's a piece of 3/16 OD brakeline with the end pinched off, and 2 holes drilled thru nearby. Crimped into place after passing through a 3/16 hole drilled in the mounting bolt. The secret?--the orifice size IS critical; the placement in the engine IS critical.

A BIG engine with a big acoustic temp. Seriously.

Also, I'm currently advancing my application of pressure-sensing liquid fueling. Think 1/2 the fuel used.

All in an effort to create an engine suitable for manned aircraft propulsion. I'm hoping to demo the thing during the 2nd half of this year.

Hmmm that just so happens to be about the time I hope to take over the aerospace industry by :P

You better start looking for potential test pilots, and brainwash them into thinking the plane has built in massaging chairs, and that it is infact very very quiet.

Talking like a pirate does not qualify as experience, this should be common sense, as pirates have little real life experience in anything other than smelling bad, and contracting venereal diseases

Ah, Dave, you would have been a welcome addition! We'll have a more substantial meet this Summer, I think.

Waitaminnit, that's when I was going to set the industry on it's ear! OK. You can go first. ;-)

Mike
Hopefully there will be a summer edition and at a time when I can attend. Heck, I might even have to build a thing or two for the occasion.
