Nice find!!

Looks like they used the SNECMA development directly; I wish we could find out more about this effort.

Thanks for this, Leo! Very interesting to see SNECMA engines outside France. I was under the impresssion that they had never been manufactured commercially. However, like the Argentinean IAME, perhaps the Polish military purchased the rights, and the thing filtered down to a civilian use.

I guess the U.S. bought him and he found a good home. The Northwest has a lot to offer.
While I am not too hopeful, I did just now put a request in for that book using the interlibrary loan feature we have at my library. I've also requested this book just recently. My library won't request a book unless it is at least 6 months old, they won't borrow brand new books that is.

PS It would be fun to browse Stan's Wojcicki's office, I bet he has some rare books sitting on his shelf. Just imagine the things he knows.

An interesting fellow. Nevertheless, I find it a bit disingenuous of him to claim he had developed the engine powering the Polish glider. It's a bit like Ray Lockwood keeping mum about the origins of his engine. Looks like in the 1950s, people were cribbing from SNECMA right, left and center.

Well, maybe you can do it. He's obviously still around. There's even an e-mail address.
