Cocktail Shaker Escopeta

Hi all:

Please see the attached photo, and the "hybrid" photo/drawing below it.

It's an off-the-shelf cocktail shaker, spun from stainless steel.

I believe it could be the basis for a really nice engine, as depicted in the drawing.

It's a work in progress, but if I can get an off-the-shelf megaphone integrated into the design, this would become a valveless pulsejet with NO parts to fabricate--just weld it up and go!

lol, I have the very same cocktail shaker, but in a very different configuration. Did you get it from Wal Mart?

There's also a nice pony & jigger in the set that I bought.

I think that buying ready-made stainless components for experimentation is a great way to go -- lots of stuff out there that is a good approximation of shapes that we'd otherwise need to fabricate. I was starting to photograph parts so that I could "assemble" a virtual engine on the PC. By making the photographs semi-transparent, you can easily visualize how one piece will fit inside another (i.e., clearances etc.)

I think your induction pipe will have to be a lot longer. Try making your induction pipe (at 276K) the same acoustic length as your tailpipe (at 1600K) up to th end of the divergent section.

Sorry 'bout that--the drawing is just a concept.

I would need to run this thru the Uflow program, at the very least.

IMHO the back end of the cocktail shaker isn't tapered enough--and would either need to be extended, or possibly an Ecrevisse "step" added.

I'm not going forward with this concept--but I would be glad to "help", if anybody would like an amateur's opinion about how to make this concept resonate.

Dear Bill.
I made a mistake anyway, it should be to the end of the straight pipe- beginning of the divergent section of tailpipe. I was thinking of the Cocktail Shaker for one of the French Ladys - fitting really.
