Pipe Deformation
I owned an old '83 Yammy RZ350 2-stroke motorcycle. I quickly fitted DG performance pipes to it, and after rejetting, possesed a bike with an insanely ejaculative powerband. After prolonged use the pipes developed undulating profiles along the straight and widest section just before the stingers (mufflers). I am not sure if the deformation was a result of pressure differentials or the harmonics of the pipes (my personal favourite) but from memory the wave length of the waves was about 10cm. Anyway, just another real world example of the confounding properties of pipes enclosing pulses!
