lady astor

Post by Berry »

I have been able to find all of the material in stainless 316 now and started building at a scale of 125 % of the original drawing so the intakes of my pulsejet will be 55 mm instead of 44 mm i was not able to find some plate so i have to make it from some left over piping material of 2 mm thick and hammer that as long as it is in shape.
I hope to be able to send some photos of the progress real soon

Fantastic! Man, I can hardly wait to see what you end up with at 125 percent. That should really rattle some windows.

Really Pretty One

Post by larry cottrill »

Man, that is a beautiful piece!

Excellent work, sir! I only hope my design is somewhere close to being as good. Man, that baby is going to be a heavy drinker. Loud, too, I'll bet ...

Good luck!

Larry and Mike thx for your kind words i made it from some left over 12 inch 2mm thick pipe that i bend and hammered in shape.

I plan to use 3 big 10 mm internal fuelpipes one for each inlet that i will close at the tip so the propane has to come out sideways and these 3 pipes then come together in a bigger 28 mm pipe outside the engine.

At the other end of this 28 mm pipe i will size down to my hose diameter again so each 10 mm pipe will get about the same amount of propane that can expand in the 28 mm pipe.

And i have to find a way to make that adjustable as well.

3 small 4 mm internal pipes that come together in a 10 mm internal pipe on which i can press my airpistol to start the engine wil be mounted just ouside the inlets as well.

So i think that all can be done this week

Hi Berry
Awwwwww yours is prettier than mine....
I have come to the conclusion the angle on my intakes is too steep.....from hrs of trying...so the next step is to decrease the angle and try again...Larry sugestions..pls....I haven't had time for sketch it out yet.
Great work Berry

lady astor finished

Post by Berry »

Thx Vern what problems do you have with starting it?
I finished the fuelpipes and airpipes today.
Tomorrow the weatherforecast says 11 degrees celsius a bit to cold for propane but i plan to give it a try .

Looks like you could carry it quite easily like a briefcase, choosing one of three handles.

Berry, I don´t know if this is possible with your current setup but you could try submerging the propane tank in a bath of warm water to get the extra pressure that you need

submerging

Post by Berry »

Submerging the propane tank in warm will be a bit hard because i have to try the pulsejet at the factory where i work in my lunchbreak i am not allowed to do it behind our house anymore i gues my wife does not like technic things.
But i am looking for some tracing to put around the needle valve maybe that will solve the problem.
And i was planning to change the fuelpipes anyway because i don't like them the way they are now it looks a bit messy the way they are now and they damage the flow a lot too so changing that should give some better results as well.
And after this winter there should come another summer again but i would love to hear it this year so if it is possible i will give it another try.
