Removing a Dyna-Jet valve head

Post by DaveFFM » Wed Jun 21, 2017 2:52 pm

I have recently acquired 3 beautiful examples of original late 40's Dyna-Jet engines. One has never been run and the other two are in excellent condition. The anodizing is in perfect condition on all of them and I can't figure out how to unscrew them from the pipe without doing damage to the finish. Can anyone recommend a good way to remove the heads?

Sometimes some gentle heat from a heat gun to the tube will work and also using rubber sheets cut from an old car tire inner tube works well as you can get a good grip on the head and tube without ripping one's hands to pieces. Regards Robert
