Post by gettylee » Sun Mar 10, 2013 5:29 pm

Just letting you know,Curtis dyna fog still sells the head assy. part of redhead DJ, I purchased it w/a extra lock ring,&constructed a new combustion tube, it started instantly! Very exciting!!! :)

gettylee,
I don't mean to rain on your parade but your Dyna-Jet is not new; someone polished the red anodizing off the head fins.
This has absolutely no effect on its operation even the fins can be removed without harm, but I can't fathom why any one would remove the coloring.
Also, your chosen spark plug appears to be larger than the original; a 3/8-24 Champion V is quite satisfactory if the ground electrode is removed. The plug might last longer if it is moved forward about 1/2 in. in the combustion chamber. It will be a little cooler there.
Always wear hearing protection! I suffer hearing loss due to my testing many D-Js and larger pulsejets when I worked for Tenney in 1949-1952.
I'm still working on my D-J book and hope to get it to the printer this summer.

Hi,yes it is new,I bought two of them from Curtis dyna fog,I sanded the fins,to give it a little carictor, so it matches my homemade combustion tube, plus I won't get cut on them,I'm going to make another DJ & I'll leave it red, lol
