Tire pump

Post by dynajetjerry » Tue Nov 01, 2011 9:19 pm

Hi, Gang,
I'm looking for a good auto tier pump with the old-style, threaded tire stem fitting, not the universal, lever-operated type. I need it to start my Dyna-Jet and Dyna-Fog pulse-jets. Any advice?
I've already contacted many sources, both locally and on the web, including eBay and I have an e-mail message to McMaster-Carr.

You could start it with a small air tank. I once just cut the lever fitting off of a tire pump and hose clamped the tubing on snug enough to hold while pumping. Then of course you could "easily" make your own fitting. I have a tap made in Poland that is 5/16 32 thread, the tire valve stem thread. Or maybe use a valve cap, drill it out at the closed end and hose clamp it on to some kind of O-ring fitting that rotates but seals the air.
