Re: O.S. replacement valves
How many reed valves do you want?
Re: O.S. replacement valves
it comes with 2. i would like quite a few so i don't have to worry about finding more. they last about 30 min each right?
Re: O.S. replacement valves
can any one I.D. these? will they fit the O.S.? http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Flutter-Valves- ... 564482e515
Re: O.S. replacement valves
They are Japanese Tigers and as it says 1.5 inches across. O.S. reeds match Dynajet reeds and are larger. Does your O.S. reed come in 2 halfs - 5 petal units? From left to right is my Dyna-Jet, Tigerjet, and Bailey Jet. The O.S., Dyna-Jet, and Bailey Jet will all take the same reeds unless modified. I have seen "bigfoot" reeds for sale which are a tiny bit wider than the typical Dyna-Jet reed, that fit over the tens ports that have been slightly widened or bored out for more speed I suppose.

Tigerjet and Dyna-Jet reeds comparison. Two of my spare reeds.

If you send me the head with the reed valve retainer I can make a new better design retainer and the reed valves will last 40 hours. Only problem I am moving my shop across town to a larger building it will be a couple of months before I can do anything in my shop. I can make you 30 new reed valves too.Ninja Z28 wrote:it comes with 2. i would like quite a few so i don't have to worry about finding more. they last about 30 min each right?

Gone-2-fly,
I'm interested in how you managed to improve pulse-jet valve life to 40 hours. What is the static thrust with your retainer? All Dyna-Jets I worked with had valve lives that were inversely proportional to thrust: One developed 3/4 lb. more thrust than the standard D-J but the reeds burned up within about 10 minutes. Another lasted more than 1 hour but its thrust was about 3-3/4 lbs on gasoline. (I never did much research on other fuels.) How much for one of your retainers?
