... evil.
GRIM's EVG 043 didn't incorporate them on a smaller scale. Now your 0455 does NOT on a larger scale.
A lot of people up here think "valve stops" are required. I don't.WebPilot wrote:He, he, he ...erik wrote:And i am not using any valve stops.

This picture of my old LH55 also gives good insight into the toroidal nature of the exhaust vortexEric wrote:Yep that pretty well describes it.
Also the point that it dips at, would be the same point in free space, that would create a virtual venturi, with the 'nozzle' being made up of a toroidal region of static / recirculating flow, and happens to be where an augmenter should be positioned.
I just posted in the valveless section on augmenter design, with some exhaust plume pics that pretty clearly illustrate the flow in toroid form.

Good luck, Erik.
Have a good race ... and have a good time.
Bring back pics of the machinery and the babes!

Thanks, I will.
But still some work left, finishing the fuelsystem, brakes, paint, and a few other things.
It will be a long might....
Eric: how many percent methanol should i try?

Even 10% should make a noticeable difference. 20% would probably be about optimal for your situation.
Mix up a few mixtures and see how they burn.

Hats off to Erik, we shared our workshop with him and his crew during the race and he has built a very impressive engine. It shakes the ground when it runs and if the track had been better he would have gone really fast. =)

Johansson: thanks, and i really appreciate the hospitality of you and your team.
Here is a short You-tube clip of the race, the beginning is from the last run and the rest from the first run.

Looked like a fun ride.
Considerable work, going from drawings on paper to a vehicle running down the track. Good Job!

Hi,
thats a really cool project, i have build a 90mm Pulsejet engine, for RC planes. Now i want to build the same engine as you erik, can you or someone else give me some plans, drawings (CAD would be good) or any information about the engine?
Thank you
greetings from Bavaria (Germany)
Markus

Hi,
is there no one who can help me with my Pulsejet Projekt, or does it have any other Reason, why nobody answers my PN or my Threads? Sorry for my bad English, but i think you can understand how you can help me, if you want.
What thickness is the Metal of the Tube?
Why do the use 2 Limitters in the Valve Grid?
Is the drawing of the vave Grid (red lines) correct?
What Iength an Diameter has the intake?
Does anybody have Plans or Drawings for sale?
If that Pulsejet projekt is "Top Secret" , please tell me, an i will never ask about it
Thank you

Ok ok, sorry, for beeing so impatient, but now i work on our new 3 Axis CNC Machning Centre with a new Control and i want to start building it (my boss allowed it, he sayed its a good practise)
I have build four 90mm Pulsejets for my RC models yet, an now i want to build a real big roaring Engine, but only for show not for RC, because its seems to get to heavy ;-(
My 2 Cone 90mm Engnine: http://www.myvideo.de/watch/3881561/Pulsotestlauf
This is the one of the first test of the two cone CC, i ran it on Diesel/Gasoline 60/40 now i run it on 100% Jet A1 (Kerosene), Starting ist also much improved, now i have a special ingniter, whicht doesn jam my RC equipment any longer
My first Engine with only one Cone and an smaller Intake:
