Notify the unusual lenght of the ram air intake.
I suppose the long intake stores momentum which might be needed to knock all the water out of the way. I was shutting off my gas to my house a year ago and was warned not to turn in off suddenly or turn it on suddenly was it? Anyway, because you have so much mass in a long line, you can set up a hefty pressure wave if you aren't careful. Maybe the anology is like trying to stop a train suddenly.

Thanks,

Speaking of unusual boats

Post by Mark » Tue Sep 21, 2004 8:50 pm

I use to play in this boat, the April Fool, when I was black, that is when my father was the director of a camp in the Florida Keys that taught sailing, scuba diving, and deep sea fishing. They named a killer whale at the Miami Seaquarium after this fellow Hugo. My parents have been friends with his sister since I was born in England.
The neat thing about the Keys and where I lived was that I had this 14 foot aluminum boat with a 7.5 horse engine that I would putt putt out of the lagoon and explore endless mangrove channels seeing nurse sharks, stingrays, moray eels, tarpon, bonefish, and other creatures just as if some early explorer had happened upon the place, Marathon Key. There are these regions they call the flats where it is shallow water for a long way out, and there are so many neat mazes of mangrove to explore, again, as if you were the first to ever happen upon the place or see these life forms dart about your boat. I had almost forgotten how interesting it was, so long ago in the early 70's.
Now I only sit in the sun for short periods, I am fairly white now.

Ah Bruno.
I see you going back over this thread again!
Im sure a couple of us have lately.

SO??? Have you come up with any power horses for my hydro's yet?

Im stuck on the engine side of things. I really want to get some grunt under my seat, although im running into all sorts of problems with the donk. Mostly being cost.
Its coming down to big motorbike engines, inboard, with through hull prop shaft. This will put a considerable amount of extra time into the build tho.

Drop a line into the WIG thread if you have an idea, im sure you do!

Ross, no, I have no new ideas. I've been friustrated in my attempts to have the Constant Flow engine built and have turned to sex instead. It consumes energy instead of producing it, but it feels better.
