someone know what is the thikness of the valve used in the pj90 from team helmond?

hey i believe they used 0.020 but when you make them 0.025 they will survive longer with 0.020 you can fly 2 or 3 time's and with 0.025 you can fly many times more. We are making a copy of the pulsejet of bert van didden :D . he said the 0.025 was the best. Bert quadvlieg also said. but i don't know what you gonne do with the pulsejet will you fly with it and how many kg thrust you want to have.

Hello, this is my first post on this board.

As you can see on my website, I built many pulsejets wich have similar dimensions to the P90 of the Helmond-Team.

The most reliable and powerful combination is as 0,25mm ( 0.098" ) main valve and a 0,25mm ( 0.098" ) second valve.

They are made of cold formed 1.4301 sheets ( I think it is similar to 316 )

Looks like a one man factory there Dj. What kind of metal do you use for the body of your pulsejets, is it an inconel or something like a 321 stainless steel? It kind of takes the wind out of my sails seeing such detailed workmanship. But I guess there are plenty of ideas to go around, still lots of things to dwell upon. I enjoyed looking at all your images very much, although I couldn't read along.

The XP90 engine ist made of 1.4301 ( 316 ) with a thickness of 0,5mm. In my opinion using inconel isn´t very usefull. With the money to by inconel for one engine you can build many pulsejets out of stainless steel.

At the moment I´m building a spotwelder to weld the valves on the valvecarrier of the Argus engine. I will update my page soon.

Wow Dj that is incredable. Can you or anyone who can read the web site confirm that the valve plates are being cast into a metal mould please. Its the Gussformen und Giessen page.
Very impressive especially that nice high speed spindle on the CNC mill.

The valveplates are casted and consists of an aluminium alloy.

Thats the most simple way to get them.

The mold is made of grey cast iron.

This material is very easy to process.

I've been told on another forum hobby casting allumium into metal moulds was to complicated to work. I thought that was wrong and your wonderful work has proved it was wrong.

But I have to say that the casting is done in the foundry of my father. So I´m able to build molds and do casting with professionel knwoledge and equipment.

I think that this work is impossible with backyard methods as well.
