I study produkt design, and I needed some training at drawing 3D, so I desided to draw a pulse jet, the Pulso 3 by kriz. I used atodesk inventor, here is a jpg. if anybody want the inventorfiles of all the parts just let me know.

Nice work! I've pm'ed you about something.

PS (I like this)

Latin and Greek phrases

Definition of: sic itur ad astra

sic itur ad astra: Thus do we reach the stars.

PPS I used Alea iacta est preparing for a hearing last
spring.

For those who didn't know, my present signature originated from work I did in this thread.

I've reached the point where I need to come up with some reasonable representation of jet exhaust for my 3d drawings.

Maps do not seem to be the way to go.

This gives some interesting effects ... but I'm not there, yet.

She's plum dumb.

Forrest -

The finished plane is really, really nice. Sorry haven't commented on it in a while, she really looks good.

I think coming up with good-looking flame is really hard. Looks like you're taking a good approach. My primitive attempts at animated pulsejet flames are on the first video here (Off Topics Forum, quite a while back). Highly realistic. Ha:

Good luck! It will be fun to see how this progresses.

Hi Larry,

Thanks for the compliment. You always were a BIG fan of her.

She's not quite finished, but then again, she's not too far away from being so. I do want to finish her before I start the next project I have in mind.

I don't know if I can come up with a good looking flame/exhaust for my pulse jet, but I'm going to try. I don't want to muck up an otherwise good drawing. Without one though, the models look like they are undergoing flame out and are gliding.

Seeing your vid is on my 'things to do' list.

That reminds me of something you might like. This morning on NPR they had a brief interview with modern composer Philip Glass -- I was interested because I recently heard (on radio) most of the national debut of his opera Appomattox, which I thought was fascinating; I wished I could see it, not just hear it. Anyway, on this NPR spot they played some of his orchestral work Einstein On the Beach. You might like to get a copy and check it out. Of course, I realize you may be familiar with his stuff, but maybe not.

Be warned, though: Glass's work has been described as "needle stuck in the groove" style. He jokingly told how they used to hold free concerts in a park for whoever happened by on a given day. One young guy asked him what his style was called, and he said, "What would you call it?" and the young man thought for a second and replied, "Buddha Rock." Hilarious. Glass said his music isn't slow -- but the rate of change is slow. Asked to comment on the observation by someone that his music "puts me in a trance", he said that you have to understand that the musicians performing it can't be in a trance; it requires extreme concentration and timing to bring it off.

Anyway, just something "off topic" to possibly brighten the day. Or perhaps, yawn, again.

Thanks Larry,

I think I've heard his name but can't place him. I'll keep him in mind. Around Halloween at one time, I heard a 'Dead Can Dance' song on NPR. I found it to be a weird but 'catchy' song. At a flea market this summer I found a VHS cassette of one of their performances. The performance I found almost spiritual.

'Fireballs' may be a way to make a 'cool' exhaust for my models.
