just collecting materials for new 2kg vavled pulse jet and i could do with a bit of help with what thickness i should buy i was thinking around the 0.5 mm range but am unsure if this is ok

Sounds alright.
Maybe it is better to use 0.8 mm thick steel for the combustion chamber and transition cone. Which means thicker material for hotter sections.

Small pulsejets can be made pretty much as thin as you can weld them, if its a flight engine thats going to get cooling. If not then go with heavy material.
