Plasma jet

Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone has heard of any forms of plasma jets.
I'm considering heating combustion gases or compressed air with High power RF (microwaves) to form plasma.

Heres some plasma I made with MAPP gas

I know they use plasma thrusters on spacecraft, but those are meant for vacuum.
