Looking for DIY Aircraft Engine Plan

Post by MustafaUmutSarac » Tue Aug 18, 2009 1:56 am

Hello ,

This is my first mail to the forum and I want to present my best.

I found cheap and very modern aircraft plans at alternativetechnologies.org .
I want to build one of them but engine is a very big problem. Long EZ builders uses sport car engines but We dont have access to working trustable used engines in istanbul and I dont have thousands also.
I found some engine plans at there also , for example valveless pulsejet. They say I can scale it as I want. Is it a solution or do you have better ideas ?

Thank you ,

at the moment , given the noise and vibration problems, a valveless pulse jet would probably be a bad idea. :(
sorry

Hi Mustapha

Welcome to the forum, to answer your question first let me say I would not trust that web site you have mentioned ;-) I would however recommend you go over to another web site called HomeBuiltAirplanes.com here is a link http://www.homebuiltairplanes.com you will find much more reliable information there and you will meet people who have actually built the aircraft they are talking about.

Pulse jets are not suited to manned flight, the noise and vibration is just a few of the issues, next comes reliability (a big thing) and fuel consumption (high) I would forget a pulse jet and go back to looking for another type of engine.

In the forum section http://www.homebuiltairplanes.com/forums/ you will find a section about using automotive engines, here is a link http://www.homebuiltairplanes.com/forum ... nversions/

Hope that helps
