Interesting. Seems laughable for the first few seconds, and then you start to see how sensible it is, in its own way. Sort of a continuously "fueled" water rocket (or rather, a pair of them). Yeah, it's limited by a big tether to a floating pump -- but ultimately, everything is constrained by something.

Another amazing application of basically simple technology. I think the "water jet" idea has a lot of potential that hasn't been well exploited.

Hi Larry

The thing that struck me was the ludicrous amount of fun you could have with this ;-) when you look at a normal (normal?) jet packs the thing that leaps out at you is the element of danger, where's the danger with this contraption? this will be a huge hit at the beach if it gets in to production.

And it looks like the pump is no more than modified a jet ski or wet bike, any one making those can make these! the price of second hand jet skis may start to go up as a result of this idea getting out in the wild ;-)
