The other BD5

Post by Viv » Sat Aug 20, 2011 3:20 pm

Your probably familiar with the small BD5 micro jet airframe as it has appeared on here a few times (I have posted some pictures from Bagotville airshow previously) but I was surprised to see a motorcycle variant appear on one of my favorite motorcycle web sites.

The bike is called a Bede BD-200 LiteStar or Owosso Pulse and is based on the BD5 airframe as you can see.

Sorry, Viv, I thought you already knew about them.

I've seen videos of them cornering - I'd much rather be on two wheels.

One link:

Test driving a rocket car

It show's the vehicle is pretty "squirrelly" hanging a right hand turn.

Imagine the yaw instability due to the friction force generated at its contact patch with the asphalt?

Yep, that's why I don't like it ... neat looking though.

Yes I think the Swedish one with the pop up stabilizers is the better solution for peace of mind, I would still have that terrible urge to put my feet down every time I stopped though ;-)

I would imagine it's pretty hot in the cockpit during the summer months, too.

Hi Forrest

I can only imagine its a cooker in California or places like it, certainly a air condition unit would be a challenge to fit
