New eco-marathon for energy-efficient light aircraft

Post by Viv » Fri Jul 02, 2010 3:55 pm

Hi All

This is an ongoing look at electric propulsion and how its advancing very rapidly towards mainstream use, there is a competition to be held in France for both amateurs and professionals to showcase their craft (electric and conventional IC engines), the significance of this should not be lost on our hobby as it will preclude market space to any pulse jet derived propulsion systems not only in the most lucrative 20-50 lbs class but also the higher classes as well, after all its hard to compete when your TFC is measured in BBQ bottles per hour and your competitors is based on the sunshine index ;-)
