Warnings
Lake Saint-Jean
11:34 AM EDT Thursday 08 July 2010
High heat and humidity warning for
Lake Saint-Jean issued
A warm and very humid airmass will cover these regions in the next few days making conditions very uncomfortable. During such times, people suffering from chronic diseases (ex.: heart and respiratory diseases) could see their condition deteriorate. Moreover, exposure to these conditions could cause discomfort, such as muscle cramps, exhaustion and heatstroke.
In order to better withstand the heat, it is recommended that people drink a lot of water, limit physical activities and seek out air conditioned or shady areas.
If you are concerned for your health or need more information, dial 811 to contact info-health services in your area.
A warm and humid air mass over southern areas of Québec will persist until late Friday. High temperatures combined with high humidity levels will result in a humidex value of at least 40 in several regions.
Thunderstorms will develop in the afternoon and could be severe over some regions.

Re: freak snow
I complain ... but I'd get bored if the weather was nice all year long. I am accustomed to the seasonal changes.
It just seems to me that this summer came late, got really hot at times, and is leaving early.

Re: freak snow
Hi Forrest
I think the same up here in Quebec, the summer was hot but Autumn is definitely here, cool but sunny with clear sky's for the last few days but we had over 45mm of rain for the two days before that, not complaining about the rain though, Lac Saint-jean is only a three minute walk from my place and is very low this year after a dry summer low winter snow fall (the lake is about 3 to 4 feet lower!).
Hopefully we will have a good snow fall this winter to put things right
Viv

Re: freak snow
I remember a weather man saying on the TV recently that we are some 2" below in rain (or equivalent snow) what we need this year to replenish the water table.
