I came across this company some time back and just noticed from a news release they have a hybrid engine for UAV applications now, the video lost its way between the engineering department and marketing guys lunch table by the looks of it ;-) if you can grit your teeth for long enough to watch it you will get the idea.

Check out the specs on their other electric motors too

Now we have some thing to start getting excited about and I must admit I did wonder who would be first and when, on show at Oshkosh this year is a this nice two seater electric but the twist is the guy is hoping to do it as a kit!

When you look at the photo note how much smaller the forward cross section is and how it allows the designer to clean up the nose of the aircraft by having such a small power plant.
