Re: Rocket man again
Todays flight attempt to cross the channel was cancelled due to low cloud on the English side of the channel at Dover, as the guy said if I cant see I cant fly
Another attempt tomorrow will take place and the weather forecast is better.
See the web site for details or you can watch it on National Geographic television channel (as I was this afternoon

Re: Rocket man again
Thanx for posting this Viv.
Im having trouble with time conversions (per usual).
What time zone is the site working in? As far as i have found, if its French, its one hour before England?
Hence, it will take him 1hr and 12mins...
I am GMT+10 hrs, so it is 8:00 or 9:00 pm Aussie?
A segment was just on TV as i was typing this, although the only time they stated was "posponed until our tonight", helpfull quality information per usual.
Hope not to "miss it" again.

Re: Rocket man again
Just think of it as London time as he is directly below london so nothing to worry about.
According to the tv slot today its on tomorrow at 7 et but lets check the web site as the presenters are not known for getting it right
~Edit ok the arse that did the site and says 12 o'clock could do with a wake up call on the fact that the rest of the world exists, 7 am eastern time Montreal is 12 pm London time so I guess its your time if I go for Brisbane 9 pm

Re: Rocket man again
It's not even a question of the rest of the world existing (after all, as any fule kno, that colonial lot all secretly use GMT when we're not watching anyway) but the fact that the flight itself crosses timezones. Given that he's taking off from France, I read it as midday French time, i.e. 11am London.Viv wrote:ok the arse that did the site and says 12 o'clock could do with a wake up call on the fact that the rest of the world exists

Re: Rocket man again
A successful flight in ten minutes followed by a good landing in Dover, you have to congratulate the guy on not only doing it but making it look easy

WOW. Thanx again Viv.
That was great to watch live, and indeed, he made it and looked easy.
Congratulations to all involved, and thank you for sharing it with the world.
