I know a few people on here are in to photography as well as aircraft so I thought i would post this from a user I found on Flickr while searching for some thing else.

Its an interesting technique and the guy who took the photos has a good eye for composition.

Viv: I worked at the counter part of that place in Tucson Arizona for about a year.....

We Disassembled them and they sold everything they could from them. Hydraulics, Engines, Avionics, Most out dated. Everything.

You would find some most interesting things in some of them.

God! I wish I could go back there with a 6 tone shopping basket!

Does it still have the control cable pulleys? If so, will you be able to figure out how the cables were rigged? That would make a very cool computer-guided sculpture. You could rig some cable, and have servos gently wiggle the "controls" back and forth a little -- the motion would show up as small rotations of the pulleys. There is a scene like that in The High And The Mighty where John Wayne goes back into the tail cone (this was a DC-7) with a flashlight (torch) to check things out. The scene was clever enough that little movements of the pulleys were visible, showing what the pilot (100 ft away) was doing to keep the aircraft straight and level.

Just something to work out in your copious free time

A guy bought him self a complete wing from a 747 to use as part of his new house, the first issue was how to transport it I will see if I can find the link again as it was an interesting project and one of my other hobbies is architecture.

Tufty: I like that stuff to a point, If it is going to have gears, they should have a real function.... oh and to much punk not enough steam...

The news tonight ( local channel 9 in LA kcal9.com ) had a piece on a 747 house being built, showed a wing being airlifted by chopper...

No cables, just the tail light. It's the faring after the tail feathers and for its size (4 ft in most directions) amazingly light
