Someone made a pulsejet out of a reed, like one of the ones I have but never got around to using, pictured next to my red Dyna-jet head here.

Skip to around the 2:30 mark and listen when the engine cuts out, the quiet whistling sound as the plane cuts through the air and stunning landing.

Here's an interesting construction. The plans look similar to the Russian book copy Don Laird sent me years ago. I suggested he try methanol. He wrote me back "The thickness of the valves did not fit, I ordered another material."

Re: youtube
What I thought was interesting is how light and how long the pulsejet was, it looked like 33.73 grams, but I couldn't tell which measurement was the thickness of the shim stock he used to roll and weld it to make tubing? I wonder how thin you could make a small jet like that?
It seemed about 70 cm long or something if I am correct, way longer proportionately than a Dyna-jet, Tigerjer, or that miniature Sibley craft jet that's an inch in diameter. I saw the plans are vaguely similar to what's in the Russian pulsejet book, which is more abbreviated than his colorful plans.

The round shape approach reminded me of the drawing in Reynt's book of sphere with twin exhaust tubes 180 degrees apart. Also Leo's design. https://youtube.com/watch?v=1QD7U0ogXWM

It was painful to watch his choice of exhaust tube proportions but a creative choice for the combustion chamber, the stem of which looks like a good carrying handle and with work something unique could come about. It brought to mind perhaps a coconut mated with bamboo or a bird house gourd for other garden variety pulsejet artistic opportunities. I'd like to try kelp for fun.

"With a sound like the trumpeting of a bad-tempered elephant, vuvuzelas are excellent noise-makers, so they eventually found there way into football stadiums and mainstream South African culture. These are things of beauty, and eco-friendly, too. Probably the most notable kelp vuvuzela is that blown by the whale crier in Hermanus, a public servant walks around the town blowing his vuvuzela to inform locals and tourists alike where the whales are to be found."
"It all started when Carnegie was tasked to find a project for his son’s class to make some kind of craft for sale at their school fundraising fete. He hit upon kelp vuvuzelas, which offered more than just a craft project as the whole class could get together to collect kelp on the beaches, and then do the painting. It was as much a social project as a creative one."

I always wondered why the water slowly rises in a bottle and then so suddenly the vacuum collapse occurs. Note the cloud just before the collapse.
